Basic Electric Guitar Construction
Skill Level: Intermediate
Class Size: 2
Four 3-hour class sessions
No tools required, bring safety glasses. Students will learn basic solid body electric guitar construction, assembly, wiring, and setup. Telecaster or Stratocaster style kits will be available. Students will each complete their own instrument from a variety of available body woods, as well as some helpful templates and jigs. We will also discuss several lutherie related topics, ranging from tonal qualities of different woods, to alternate building techniques. (Required course for advanced guitar classes.)

Advanced Guitar Fretwork and Setup
Tuition: $125.00
Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate level hand tools, soldering iron.
Class Size: 6
One 6- hour class session.
Specialized tools will be available for use and purchase, students are encouraged to bring in that worn out old instrument and find out how to give it new life! or take that yard sale guitar and make it play like never before ... learn the real tricks of the pros .. hot- rodding and custom setup tricks to give you an instrument that feels like it was made just for you. Bring your nerve and a crappy instrument. remember, one fret job can cost more than the tuition! (Required for advanced electric and acoustic building classes.) Call for list of helpful hand tools.

Advanced Electric Guitar Construction
Tuition: $600.00 plus materials
Skill Level: Completion of required courses, Intermediate to Advanced.
Class Size: 2
Eight 4-hour classes -- 32 hours class time with homework.
Learn advanced electric guitar construction techniques by designing and building your own custom Les Paul style instrument completely from scratch. Learn how different design and construction techniques and materials affect tone in an electric instrument, and incorporate this into your own unique instrument.

Approx. 24 hours class time
Construct a steel string dreadnought size acoustic guitar. two pre serviced kits will be available, either mahogany or rosewood, with a choice of bindings, rosettes and trim available to make each unique. since these kits are "pre serviced”, the really hard stuff is done for you already,. We will concentrate on actual construction and voicing of the instrument. Each student will also construct their own forms and jigs necessary for building a guitar.
